We had the opportunity to attend an interview session with yuyoyuppe a.k.a DJ’TEKINA//SOMETHING during Comic Fiesta 2016. A well known Vocaloid music producer with the Nico Nico Douga username, yuyoyuppe, former music producer for the girl band, Baby Metal, music composer for the doujin music circle, Draw the Emotional and a DJ who performed in many places.

We were given permission to record the interview session so you may watch the video or read the transcript of the interview session. Do note that what the translator said in the video may be different from the transcript because I also did my own translation when writing this transcript.

Comic Fiesta 2016: Day 1 & Day 2

Comic Fiesta is the biggest and most consistent event in the Malaysian ACG (animation, comics & gaming) community. Perhaps, because of that, it doesn’t even feel like the end of the year until another CF has come and gone. The event has been around since 2002 which makes this year its 14th year in operation.

This year, the event was held at PWTC which was far more widespread, if not bigger, than last year’s venue. This could only mean two things: (1) A larger area to check out, and (2) Sore, sore feet.

In fact, the sheer amount of standing, walking and waiting in lines was enough for many to give up attending Day 2 of the event. Not that it stopped Comic Fiesta from pulling in 45,000 visitors, keeping up with last year’s tally.

And it sure as hell didn’t stop us either. Here is a round-up of all the excitement that went on that weekend!

Project Dark: Darkness Rising 2016 – Day 1

During the beginning of December, we attended Project Dark: Darkness Rising which was held in Medini Mall. This was the first time Project Dark was ever held and their mission for this event was to “bring a dimension of darkness to the cosplay community, [hoping to] revitalize the competition scene for cosplayers with new and exciting concepts.”

The venue was quite easy to find using Waze, and in case you are wondering where Medini Mall is, it is directly opposite the famous Legoland! (Which is in JB! Hooray for JB!) However, that place is “infamous” for being quite warm and, oh boy, let me tell you, it sure was.

Okaerinasaimase ojousama, goshujinsama… KON! – La Petite Fox Cafe at Comic Fiesta 2016

Kon kon! In this article, we shall bring you something new before Comic Fiesta 2016! With just ONE DAY away from one of Malaysia’s biggest events, here is an introduction about a rather new edition to the event, the La Petite Fox Cafe!

Founded by the Comic Fiesta team back in 2015, the La Petite Fox Cafe made its debut during the 2015 Comic Fiesta Mini in Penang. The main reason Comic Fiesta decided to start a maid and butler café was so that fans would be able to experience a Japanese Butler and Maid Café experience in Malaysia.

Pokémon Sun and Moon Launch Event: Day 1 & 2

A few weeks ago, one of the most popular franchises introduced a new generation to their games, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. This was one of those moments Pokémon fans like me get crazily excited for. To make things even better, a launch party was held in conjunction with the release of these new games to gather all of the Pokémon fans, both new and old to have fun together for this awesome moment.

Similarly to Cosplay Corner 2016 held a few months back, the event was also held in KDU Damansara Jaya Campus. I personally like this place as it is spacious and perfect for small to moderately sized events, despite the place being slightly hard to reach using public transport and lacking parking space.

Game Plan 2016: Day 2

This year, we had the honour of attending Game Plan 2016 to cover the event. Just like last year, it’s held with a focus on gamers and the spirit of competition between these hardcore players, to let them fight and struggle their way to bragging rights and cold hard cash.

This time around, Game Plan 2016 was held at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College instead of KDU University College Ultropolis Glenmarie. While the new venue was significantly smaller than the one they used last year, it still served its purpose and certainly helped make the event feel much more hyped!

The problem with last years venue was it was a little too big, and it felt a little lonely in some of the places. However, with the smaller venue this year, it felt a little more crowded and more energetic. Anyway, enough mumbo jumbo about last year’s Game Plan, let’s talk more about this year’s Game Plan!

MGACE 2016: Day 1 & 2

Hello hello, and welcome back for another event coverage with Eleven Tsuki! A few weeks ago, we attended MGACE 2016 as official media, and we have loads of experiences to share about this great event.

The event this year was held at Makespace Quill City Mall. A location that is rather convenient to commute to even by public transport, and seems to be an increasingly popular choice for event organisers.
