Disclaimer: This is the second part of this series and it covers a few other things that has been brought up in Celebrity Culture (click HERE to read)
1. Fragmented image
What does it mean? Well, a celebrity has an image to uphold but most of the time it may not be the true self of that individual. When Yuuri did Eros, both Victor and Nishigori noted this point by saying that it is another image of Yuuri. Many has known him for the insecure skater he is but in this particular program, we see the more confident side of him. Now, the question is which one’s the real Yuuri? Hard to say because both are him.
Hello everyone! In this post, I will be looking at Yuri!!! on ICE and compare it with some of the communication theories I’m familiar with, including Celebrity Culture.
Celebrity Culture has always been a fascinating thing that we consume daily and one of the activities we do is idolize our celebrities. In their studies, Engle and Kasser (2005) reported that celebrity idolization can be disregarded as a harmless hobby among the fans that has taken place for quite some time.
However, they also pointed out that this remarkable behaviour is something that researchers could look into. It can also be regarded as a leisure activity and somewhat of an interest for fans towards their favourite celebrity. Likewise, our protagonist Katsuki Yuri has also admired Victor Nikiforov as a fan.
These days, there are sequels popping left and right. Not just sequels. Reboots are also seen more frequently especially in the Hollywood scene. However, we’re not here to talk about the Hollywood scene, we’re here to talk about the state of the anime scene right now.
Hello everyone! As anime lovers, we love our characters who were brought to life by none other than talented voice actors themselves! Aside from the talented animators, artists, script writers and production crew, these voice actors are also known as seiyuu. Here are a few amazing things about the seiyuu.
Disclaimer: I apologize for only writing about male seiyuu because I do not know many female seiyuu.
It’s been months since the music video for Shelter came out, but that melody and story still hasn’t left me. A young girl named Rin left alone, comatose and floating through space, trapped inside a virtual world of her own creation for years and years and years…
They say it’s an eternal sleep, one that she will never wake up from – but what if there was proof that she would?
While I was looking through Reddit, I came across an interesting thread linking Shelter to one of Porter Robinson’s previous songs Sad Machine from his debut studio album Worlds. The song is a duet between a human and a robot telling the story of a girl who has “slept a hundred years” and “awakened again”. How suspicious…
News spread quickly to many ears about Family Mart’s plans to open a local branch here in Malaysia earlier this year and spread even quicker when Family Mart Malaysia announced the opening of their pilot store located at Wisma Lim Foo Yong, Jalan Raja Chulan on 11th November 2016. I managed to find time to visit the store in the evening of its first day of opening.
I won’t be writing about the history of Family Mart or anything about its popularity, but rather, my thoughts about Family Mart Malaysia compared to my experience visiting Family Mart during my trip to Japan last year.

In my last post, I talked briefly about Yuuhei Satellite and mentioned them being a huge circle. Therefore, I want to introduce to you Yuuhei Satellite in this post.
Yuuhei Satellite is circle which started back in year 2010 and had quickly grown into a huge circle this day, probably standing equal in popularity to Alstroemeria Records, a famous circle which have been around since year 2004.
Disclaimer: The following post contains spoilers for Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
There is something about Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie In April) that is extremely gripping… Something that not quite many people can pinpoint when asked: “What’s so great about this anime?” The story in its entirety is pretty cliche. At best, it is a plot line that has been beaten to death with a few minor tweaks.
Boy meets girl, girl inspires boy to do something, girl has illness, boy falls to depression, girl passes away but boy is A-OK. This isn’t a story we haven’t seen, in fact it is quite predictable. However, there must be something about Shigatsu that made it into a what it is today, a highly rated anime.
Hi readers, previously I wrote a brief introduction to Touhou Music. This time I will be sharing with you my personal favourite Touhou music circles.
First off, I would have you know that I love electro music, especially the techno and trance genre. Therefore, you will find this bias list containing mostly circles of those genres. These circles are not in any way ranked. I appreciate these circles equally, except for the first one probably being my favourite of them all.
